Heather Egan's Mission: Helping Families Find the Stability of Home
October 17, 2025

Heather Egan has always had a love for homes.
Growing up, Egan remembers her family was often on the move. They would typically rent homes until finally they were able to buy one in Hillsboro. Finding that stability, she said, made a big difference to her as a child.
It’s only fitting that Egan would then pursue a career in real estate, helping others achieve their own dreams of homeownership. Three years ago, she was promoted to Willamette Valley/Yamhill County Sales Manager for First American Title, moving to Independence with her husband, Garry, and their dog, Dotty.
Though everyone has their own needs and preferences — hers include having a spacious kitchen, covered patio, and plenty of storage space — Egan said the common denominator is how homeownership builds generational wealth and long-term security.
“It can be a stressful situation. Real estate is a big-ticket item they’re investing in for their future,” Egan said. “We just make sure that it’s done with care, security, and professionalism.”
Egan joined the MVAR Board of Directors as an Affiliate Director in 2023. First American was nominated for Affiliate Member of the Year in 2024.
Being a part of MVAR allows Egan to network with real estate agents and lenders, she said, and support one another through changes in the industry and support our local community.
“As a board member, I really enjoy getting to know the other members and partners, hearing about what they do and how they bring value to their business, and how we can support our community together.”
Trust and Consistency
Egan graduated from Portland State University with a degree in communications. She was naturally drawn to real estate, working in the Portland market before making the move to the Mid-Valley.
“I love helping clients succeed,” she said. “I think it’s about understanding the client’s needs and asking really good questions.”
Building trust and consistency with clients is another key to thriving in the title business, Egan said, particularly as they weather market changes and challenges together. Those recently have included Oregon’s ongoing efforts to build more houses to expand homeownership, or closely monitoring interest rates set by the Federal Reserve.
“We share a common goal of wanting a thriving community. Working together is going to be key to making our community safe and prosperous,” Egan said. “I feel like just showing up is more important now than ever.”
When not at work, Egan said she and Garry enjoy spending time with family, playing pickleball, catching live music at the Riverview Park Amphitheater in downtown Independence, and paddleboarding on the Silverton Reservoir. Egan also practices Pilates, pickleball, and is an avid reader of mystery novels.
