An Extrovert’s Edge: Jordan Hill Thrives in Real Estate, Podcasting

April 23, 2026

If success in real estate is driven by building relationships, then Jordan Hill is no doubt made of the right stuff.

A self-described extrovert, Hill says she is most energized being around people. Her friendly and outgoing personality naturally lends itself to the real estate industry, where she leads Hilltop Property Group with eXp Realty, LLC in Salem.

But that’s not all. Hill is also a mentor, church youth group leader, and for the past year has served as host of the “Dirt to Sky” business podcast, inviting entrepreneurs and business leaders to share lessons on leadership, resiliency, and more.

Whether working with clients or interviewing guests in the studio, Hill said it takes genuine curiosity and the ability to listen to connect with others and develop a good rapport.

“It’s about asking them questions and learning to listen to what they’re saying,” she said. “And instead of listening to just respond about myself, I’ll keep asking them questions. It builds trust with them and becomes something way more meaningful than just a business conversation, or a real estate conversation.”

Virtual Beginnings

Hill first joined eXp Realty in 2018, changing careers after previously working in retail sales. The nationwide brokerage had just started growing, Hill said, and they needed someone who could help onboard new agents across the U.S.

The position, however, was remote — not exactly ideal for a social extrovert. But there was a unique twist, Hill said. The company operated within a sort of virtual office, with agents and employees represented by digital avatars not unlike a video game. This setup maintained at least a form of one-on-one interaction, which Hill said kept her engaged while offering flexibility as she worked toward earning her REALTOR® license.

“It actually allowed me to adjust to a remote position as an extrovert really well,” Hill said.

Hill earned her license in 2020 and went on to start Hilltop Property Group, where she is now a Certified Luxury REALTOR® and Military Relocation Professional. This year, she joined the MVAR Board of Directors and said the organization has helped her to become a better educated real estate professional.

“MVAR has given me updates on things that are going on politically, and decisions being made,” she said. “I realized that, if I’m handling people’s most valuable assets, I can’t be lazy and not up to date on this. I had to get involved.”

‘Dirt to Sky’

About two years ago, Hill met Jesse Peone, editor of the Salem Business Journal, at a local networking event. The two quickly realized their values aligned, and Peone asked if Hill would be interested in hosting a business-themed podcast.

Hill, who had spent several years developing confidence in public speaking with the Salem Toastmasters Club, agreed and “Dirt to Sky” was born.

“Every single week I get to sit down with somebody new and learn from them,” Hill said. “I’m the lucky one.”

After 42 episodes (and counting), Hill said she’s gained tidbits of wisdom about business and life. One of her favorite interviews was with athlete Cameron Hanes, who discussed running an ultramarathon on a broken foot and his mindset for pushing through adversity.

“It was just very inspiring,” Hill said. “Because if he’s just a regular human being who can do that, then I have no excuse.”

Hill also thrives as a mentor in her own right, coaching fellow real estate agents and serving as a church youth group leader for teens. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and camping with her husband, Mike, and four kids.

“Working with teens is really important to me,” she said. “I try to invest in younger generations as much as I can.”
